Yes. I know. I wrote that I have few ideas to write about, including the “driving and reading one” [I did promise this on draugiem.lv, my personal pre-view blog
]
But neither us (I mean: You and I, we can both wait) is in a hurry.
Well, I promise: I will not tell you that I will let you wait until the hell freezes over
But first- and if you follow me on twitter… you know a little bit already.
Incidentally: I twitter on @robertolofaro whenever I have something new only on the blog, or when I see something interesting about the blog themes.
And I twitter @aleph123 for politics, @aleph123lv to announce once in a while something related only to frype.com/draugiem.lv, plus others for business purposes
Why? Because, when I was online in stage6.divx.com in 2007, as part of my experiment, and I published travel videos and pictures, I had few “channels”- about tourish in different towns, and about multimedia production, commentary on articles, and, of course, travel advice and announces of exhibitions and the like.
Well, twitter is my way of resurrecting those “channels”- there, I had over 400 people that followed, and once in a while we exchanged commentary on our pictures and videos.
A trivia-level item: if you look at my pictures (and if you looked at my movies- soon to be back online when I will have solved some technical glitches), you will see that usually I show places, buildings- but not people.
Am I a misanthrope- a little bit yes.
But I cannot stay without people and human voices, whatever I do
No, reason is probably simpler: taking pictures of buildings, places, crowds gives you much greater creative freedom.
And why all of this relates to London?
Well, because… the weather was really enjoyable.
I had some rain yesterday- but, being used to the 10-minutes rainstorms in Brussels, it was like being at home
And overall, the weather was the same: a couple of hours of really sunny and warm weather, an hour of gloomy, leaden cloud forecasting a thunderstorm, followed by some cold wind, followed by warm sunny weather… and so on
What really surprised me wasn’t really the weather.
Was the people.
For all the gloom I read about the British economy, people seemed to appreciate the weather and to be more relaxed than the last time I came here.
No, I would not say “happy”, but not “unhappy”.
Probably it is closer to being used to hear all the crisis rumours, and therefore seeing that, anyway, the show goes on.
It is quite normal.
It is like the old story about Peter and the wolf: the more you cry wolf, the less people listen to you.
Anyway- whatever the reason, I saw less stress around, and also less… drunk people last night.
I am curious anyway: how do my friends who actually leave in London feel about their environment? [well, to comment on this... join me either on Facebook or draugiem.lv
]
Coming from outside you can see something that people living there everyday do not.
But, staying such a short-time, your own way of seeing (your own perspective, or, if you want, “Weltanschauung”) influences the way you see things.
Another application of the indetermination principle- observing something changes what you observe in a way related to the “energy” that you add in observing
(Well, it is not perfect- but go on Wikipedia and search for “Heisenberg principle”
)
Have a nice day!
